08 Jan Penny Lopez Guest Speaker at Chamber Breakfast

The La Mirada Chamber continues its speaker series on January 9th at 8:00 AM at 12 Sixty Modern Pub & Kitchen in La Mirada located at 14299 Firestone Blvd, La Mirada, CA 90638.

Our first special speaker of 2024 is Penny Lopez of the Whittier YMCA. She earned her degree in Human Services from Springfield College. Currently, Penny serves on the YMCA leadership team as the association’s Chief Advancement and Administration Officer is an avid spin cyclist, enjoys traveling, and recently became a ‘dog mom’.

Lopez has worked in the nonprofit sector for 15 years. Her desire and passion for nonprofits was born from an experience concerning a young child diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Lopez witnessed first-hand the importance of a community working together toward a common goal. Her belief in the importance of strong family connections and support became a natural link to her vocation at the YMCA.

She is a La Mirada native, married with three grown children. She volunteers for the Special Olympics Lions Club in Whittier (SOLA) and is a member of SOLA’s board of directors.

Accompanying her will be Juan Aceves, Director of Annual Support.
